SMP gallery 2023 Traveling Gallery KARATSU

SMP GALLERY "Traveling Gallery" is a special exhibition that creates a space where artworks travel just as people travel, meeting local people and people traveling to the area. The first destination is Karatsu. We will be introducing works by three artists. Takeuchi Kozo (ceramist), who is fascinated by ruins and architecture and creates his black soil Genseki series, Mitsui Takeyoshi (glass artist), whose blown glass works feature beautiful smooth lines and tonal shadows, and Koshigaya Yoshitaka (landscape photographer), who captures captivating landscapes in delicate colors. New works photographed during travels to Karatsu will also be on display!
Please enjoy the first-ever "Traveling Gallery" special exhibition in the TOKIWAGI space, where the textures and colors of the three artists' unique works resonate with each other.
SMP GALLERY is a gallery that introduces Art, Design, and Kogei, launched this fall by STYLE MEETS PEOPLE (Tokyo Midtown) with the concept of "made in mind" = "giving shape to thoughts." We will hold special exhibitions from time to time where people and artworks can meet at their travel destinations.
